Having said that, I'm going to rush in with my SWAG: Next hackneyed clichés is "Fools rush in, where wise men fear to tread". Remember the old adage, " a picture is worth a thousand words". Enjoy your Smith-Philįirst of all, welcome to G&G, good place to visit and be a part of. They don't make em like that nowadays! How does it shoot? Mine is a super pleasure to fire with a great trigger and quite accurate. I really like the mushroom end to the ejector rod and the cutout for it under the barrel, really cool. There is a good chance they are real pearl grips if from the 1920's. You may want to check if your grips are real pearl or plastic. Mine has non original real stag grips from the 1920's period. My guess is that it came with walnut stocks (grips), but you can verify by getting a Letter from Jenks on your gun, cost is $50.00. My best SWAG for yours at 3999xx would be around 1921. Mine was delivered to a gun shop in Los Angeles in August 1925, as per the letter of Authenticity from Roy Jenks, Smith & Wesson historian. You have the same revolver as mine (pic at bottom of post #46), a 3rd model 1905 4th change. Go to page 3 of this thread post #46 and read my answer to "bender". First of all Chuck, a big welcome to G&G, good people, good info and good times, post in anytime.
