So, first chance I got I bought a ticket to the next show at Shoreline, 6/2/95. When he handed me back my paper, it was signed "Dear Joe, keep on dreaming! Jerry Garcia". Turns out he is a distant cousin of Jerry's, and he brought my paper with him to a JGB show over the weekend and had Jerry read it. Come Monday, my Psych teacher calls me up after class. At the time, I had an assignment in my Psych class to keep a dream journel, so I logged my dream and for some reason didn't get my paper back on Friday with the rest of the class. One night I had a dream that I went to a Dead show and my Dad was playing drums at the show. Some of my buddies had been, and I had a couple of albums and a small cassette collection. I was a high school senior in the Bay Area who had never been to a Dead Show. I said my goodbyes this weekend, and what a way to say goodbye! It all started for me over 20 years ago. Too far, too spendy, and I have a family and a life outside of The Dead to attend to.
